O. sp. 'Central Canterbury' are virtually indistinguishable from O. sp. 'South Marlborough'.
The tag name refers to the known geographic distribution of the species.
Central Canterbury skink
A medium to large skink (~82-103 mm SVL, Jewell 2008) with brown, olive-brown or olive-green dorsal surfaces densely patterned with pale flecks edged with black. Dorso-lateral pale brown stripe and dark brown band present, with pale flecking. Lateral surfaces grey. Dorsal and lateral markings usually extend onto the tail. Ventral surface uniform grey to bright salmon pink (Jewell 2008).
